An author and motivational speaker, he is most famous for his book, A View From the Top: Moving from Success to Significance. His other, often Christian-themed works include Better Than Good: Creating a Life You Can't Wait to Live (2006) and Raising Positive Kids in a Negative World (1985).
He died of pneumonia in Plano, Texas at the age of eighty-six.
An ardent conservative, Ziglar supported Mike Huckabee's 2008 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. -
Before fame
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He subsequently attended the University of South Carolina and became the Vice President of an automotive company.
