Younha is a South Korean Rock singer who found mainstream success with single Houki Boshi, which made her the second Korean, after BoA, to have broken the Oricon chart's top 20. In 2007 and 2011, she won the Best New Artist and the Excellence Radio DJ award at MBC Entertainment Awards respectively.
Bornto music-loving parents, Younha began to play the piano at age 5. She developed an interest in Japanese TV dramas and Japanese music. Younha began to audition within Korea, through as many as 20 auditions though refused by certain companies
Younha started career since in high school, though decided to drop out after the release of her first single, which later made her regret quite a lot. She continued to pursue the path with a debut in Korea when enrolling in Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
