Weng Tojirakarn is well known as a Thai physician and politician, who is also an activist of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (Red Shirts). He became a member of parliament for the Pheu Thai Party since 2011.
Weng Tojirakarn was born as a child in a family of poor Chinese immigrants. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University and became the secretary-general of the Medical Students Centre of Thailand. He then joined the illegal Communist Party of Thailand, cured wounded comrades and co-founded the Confederation for Democracy.
Weng got married the microbiologist Thida Thavornseth.
