Born Vonzell Monique Solomon and better known by her stage name of Baby V, this R&B and pop vocalist was a finalist in the fourth season of American Idol. Her debut EP, "True Story," was released on iTunes in early 2012.
She made it to American Idol's Top 3 contestants, ultimately finishing behind Bo Bice and Carrie Underwood.
American Idol judge Randy Jackson was highly complimentary of Solomon's rendition of the Diana Ross hit "When You Tell Me That You Love Me."
Before auditioning for American Idol, she released a demo recording titled My Struggle and performed with several local Florida bands. At this stage in her career, she financed her musical endeavors by working for the United States Postal Service.
She was born in Georgia and raised in Fort Myers, Florida. She grew up with two brothers and one sister and spent her high school years at the Cypress Lake Center for the Arts.
