Remembered for his acclaimed career in Bengali Cinema, this iconic Indian actor starred in such films as Nayak (The Hero), Chiriyakhana, and Antony Firingee. He was the recipient of many honors, including a National Film Award for Best Actor and numerous Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards.
He died of a heart attack while filming an early 1980s movie titled Ogo Bodhu Shundori.
