Tiger Woods reached the summit of his profession with his performance in motion in 1997 when he became the youngest man and the first African American to win the U.S. Masters. He was named the PGA Player of the Year 10 times over the next 12 years, especially reached the number one position in the world rankings in June 1997 as well.
Tiger Woods was born in Cypress, California, to an African-American Army officer and a Thai mother. As a child, he became extremely proficient at golf and appeared on television shows such as Good Morning America. Before turning professional in 1996, with an outstanding amateur and two-year college golf career he won a number of amateur U.S. golf titles.
Tiger Woods has been romantically involved with a Swedish former model Elin Nordegren in 2003. They were married in 2004 with 2 children, a daughter named Sam Alexis Woods born in 2007 and a son named Charlie Axel Woods born in 2009. However the two separated in the following year.
