An American actress, writer, presenter Teri Hatcher is best known for her roles as Lois Lane on the ABC series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and especially starred as Susan Mayer on the hit comedy series Desperate Housewives, which earned her SAG and Golden Globe awards for best actress in addition to 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards, propelling her one of the highest-paid actresses on American TV. Besides her acting career, she also challenged herself in writing with her first book published in 2006, entitled Entitled Burnt Toast and Other Philosophies of Life.
Hatcher was born in Palo Alto, California, to Esther, a computer programmer and Owen Walker Hatcher, Jr., a nuclear physicist and electrical engineer. She first came into the entertainment industry as a cheerleader for the football team the San Francisco 49ers in 1984. She also once appeared on the popular television show The Love Boat as a mermaid dancer. Her film debut The Big Picture was made in 1989, followed by Soapdish (1991), etc.
After her first marriage with Marcus Leithold in 1988, ending the following year, she married actor Jon Tenney and gave birth to a daughter Emerson Tenney on November 10, 1997.
