Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress who earned her fame for her appearances in Hong Kong action films in the early 1990s. Typically, as Wai Lin in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies and Yu Shu Lien in martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, she caught attention from Western world audiences and gained various nominations, including Golden Horse Award, Hong Kong Film Award and VFCC Award, all for Best Actress. She was considered as the only Asian actress ranked in the People magazine's 35 All-Time Screen Beauties list.
She studied ballet since the age of four before attending the Royal Academy in London, England. After winning the Miss Malaysia 1983 beauty pageant, she represented her native countries to participate the Queen of the Pacific 1983 beauty pageant in Melbourne, Australia and won the crown. She made her first appearance in a television commercial with Jackie Chan a year later.
She was the wife of Hong Kong entrepreneur Dickson Poon from 1988 to 1992. After that, she was engaged to Jean Todt, a leading figure in motor racing in 2008.
