An American singer-songwriter from Jonesboro, Georgia Tameka Cottle (nickname Tiny) came to the attention of a wider audience as a member of the multi-platinum R&B group Xscape and her relationship with successful rapper T.I. The R&B singer of small stature helped Xscape release three consecutive Platinum-selling albums such as Hummin' Comin' at Cha, Off the Hook, and Traces of My Lipstick. More notably, she won a Grammy Award for her writing contributions on the TLC hit No Scrubs.
Tameka Cottle was born in College Park, Georgia to Diane Cottle-Pope and Charles Pope. Her father together with her uncle Joseph Pope formed the R&B group The Tams. She involved in the R&B quartet Xscape in 1992 while still a senior at Tri-Cities Performing Arts High School and sang lead vocals on five of Xscape's hit singles Understanding, Do You Want To?, etc. she received two Soul Train Music Awards for Best New R&B Artist and Best R&B Album when in group.
