South Korean film director Jang Sun-woo is famous for directing such films as Seoul Jesus, Cinema on the Road and Resurrection of the Little Match Girl. Throughout his career, he has made totally 11 films, especially his 199 3 film, Hwa-Om-Kyung won the Alfred Bauer Prize by the Berlin International Film Festival. At present, he is preparing to produce a film inspired by early Buddhist sutras.
Jang Sun-woo graduated from a university in Seoul with a degree of anthropology. However, he decided to pursue directing career. Before becoming a director, he worked as a film critic and received much attention. He first made his official debut with his film Seoul Jesus in 1986. In 1988, he continued producing The Age of Success
Little has been known about his personal life. Now, he lives on Jeju Island
