Throughout his career, he has achieved numerous highest awards and recognitions, including the Academy Award for Best Director for Schindler's List(1993) and Saving Private Ryan(1998) in addition to the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
Steven Spielberg was born Steven Allan Spielberg to Leah Adler Posner a restaurateur and concert pianist and her husband Arnold Spielberg (born 1917) an electrical engineer. Throughout his early teens, he made lots of amateur films The Last Gunfight, Escape to Nowhere, Firelight, etc. While he did a small unpaid intern job at Universal Studios with the editing department before his seven-year directing contract with this major Hollywood studio.
After the on and off romantic relationship with his ex-wife Amy Irving from 1976 to 1989, he found his current wife actress Kate Capshaw. The two had 3 children Sasha Rebecca Spielberg, Sawyer Avery Spielberg, Destry Allyn Spielberg besides Max Samuel Spielberg, son from his previous marriage to actress Amy Irving. They also adopted other 3 children, one of whom from Kate Capshaw's previous marriage to Robert Capshaw.
