Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, widely known as his stage name Snoop Dogg, is an American Legendary rapper who evolved under the tutelage of Dr. Dre and skyrocketed to stardom with albums like Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather and Reincarnation. Throughout his career, he has since sold over 35 million records worldwide, which is a huge success which made his name internationally known. One of Snoop Dogg's most notable performances to date was his debut album Doggystyle, sold nearly 1 million copies the week of its release and became certified 4× platinum in 1994 . For his extraordinary talent, Snoop Dogg has garnered lots of top awards and nomination including winning American Music Awards in 1995, BET Awards 2003 and 16 nominations for Grammy Awards.
Born October 20, 1971, at the Los Altos Hospital in Long Beach, California, Snoop Dogg is the second of 3 sons to her mother Beverly Broadus and his stepfather, Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Sr. As a child, he stared singing at Golgotha Trinity Baptist Church and playing piano and was absorbed in rapping since he was in 6th grade. Along with some friends, he recorded homemade tapes which were discovered by influential producer Dr. Dre in 1992. After the success of Doggystyle (1993), he released next albums Tha Doggfather, No Limit Top Dogg (1999) which confirmed his status as an international celebrity.
