Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal is aprofessional basketball player who is currently an analyst on TV program Inside the NBA. Drafted by the Orlando Magic, he quickly became one of the most noticable, winning Rookie of the Year in 1992–93 and later leading his team to the 1995 NBA Finals. Leaving the Magic, O'Neal signed to the Los Angeles Lakers, brought in three championships in 2000, 2001, 2002.
O'Neal's achievements include the 1992–93 NBA Rookie of the Year award, three All-Star Game MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards, two scoring titles. Also, he is one of only three players to win NBA MVP, All-Star game MVP and Finals MVP awards in 2000; ranks 6th all-time in points scored, 5th in field goals, 13th in rebounds, and 7th in blocks.
Along with his basketball career, O'Neal released four rap albums, appeared in numerous films and his own reality shows, Shaq's Big Challenge and Shaq Vs..
O'Neal was born to Joseph Toney, an All-State guard in high school who was offered a basketball scholarship to play at Seton Hall. After his father's arrested for drug possession, he moved to live with stepfather, Phillip A. Harrison. In high school, he led his Robert G. Cole High Schoolteam to a 68–1 record for two years and won the state championship in his final year.
He married Shaunie Nelson on December 26, 2002 with four children Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me'arah. O'Neal also has a daughter from a previous relationship (Taahirah). After many times on-off they divorced in 2009. In2010, O'Neal dated Nikki "Hoopz" Alexander, and resided in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
