Shailene Woodley is an American actress who came to the attention of a wider audience in 2004 with a leading role as Amy Juergens, in the ABC Family series The Secret Life of the American Teenager (2008–13). Starring role in the independent comedy-drama The Descendants propelled her to more mainstream success. Throughout her career she won lots of awards and nomination, including the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture and The Spectacular Now (2013), the Special Jury Award for Acting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and a Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Female Lead.
Born to Lori, a middle school counselor and Lonnie Woodley, a school principal, Shailene Woodley gained popularity from a young age as a model. She built a reputation for first starring as Kaitlin Cooper in The O.C and left her mark in acting world for her nomination for a Young Artist Award for Best Leading Young Actress in a TV Movie, Miniseries or Special for her role in A Place Called Home as California Ford.
