Playing as a midfielder and a winger, Cazorla plays for the English club Arsenal and the Spanish national football team. Being noted for his speed, shooting accuracy, capacity to change the rhythm of gameplay and excellent close control, he was ranked as the tenth-best footballer in the world by Bloomberg in 2013. Cazorla represented Spain at Euro 2008 and 2012, winning both tournaments, and he has gained more than 70 caps. He has also played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He started playing club football for local team Real Oviedo before moving to Villareal CF.
