Ryuhei Kitamurabecame widely well-known for his works like film Versus (2000), which earned him first successes in directing career, The Midnight Meat Train (2008), receiving positive reviews from critics, and screenplay Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), his debut project held in Hollywood.
When he was 17, he left high school and then moved to Sydney, Australia to entered a school for visual arts. In 1995, as a director, Ryuhei Kitamura made the his first film named Exit as his graduation piece. Then, he returned to Japan to found his own production studio, Napalm Films.
