Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, commonly known as Ronaldo, is a Brazilian football player. Often regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time by experts and fans, he achieved the Ballon d'Or twice, in 1997 and again in 2002. Throughout career, he played for seven different club teams, most notably Inter Milan and Real Madrid. In February 2011, he announced to retire from football.
Ronaldo began his football career playing for Cruzeiro, leading them to their first Copa do Brasil in 1993 and the Minas Gerais State Championship in 1994. Before that, he was turned down by his boyhood favourite team Flamengo.
Ronaldo is the third child of Nélio Nazário de Lima, Snr. and Sônia dos Santos Barata. He has a brother named Nélio Jr. His first marriage with female Brazilian footballer Milene Domingues lasted from 1999 to 2004. The two had one son named Ronald, who was born April 2000. Later on, he became engaged to Brazilian model and MTV VJ Daniela Cicarelli, but the couple broke up just 3 months after their luxurious wedding at the Château de Chantilly.
