Robin McLaurin Williams was an American actor and comedian. He came to comedy and feature film acting after rising to fame as Mork in the sitcom Mork & Mindy (1978–82). In 1998, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Dr. Sean Maguire in Good Will Hunting. He also received two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Grammy Awards throughout his career.
After his film debut in the musical comedy Popeye (1980), he starred or co-starred in popular films, including the comedy-drama The World According to Garp (1982), war comedy Good Morning, Vietnam (1987), dramas Dead Poets Society (1989) and Awakenings (1990), etc.
Williams went through three marriages with Valerie Velardi from 1978 to 1988,
Marsha Garcesfrom 1989 to 2010 and Susan Schneider from 2011 to 2014. The actress Zelda Rae Williams is his only daughter. He also had a pair of sons named Zachary and Cody. In August 2014, he was found dead after committing a suicide by hanging at his home in Tiburon, California USA.
