2011 Heisman Trophy winner at Baylor University who was drafted 2nd overall by the Washington Redskins in 2012 and went on to win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
During his time at Baylor, he set 26 single season records, 20 career records and 8 single game records for the school.
He won the 2011 Heisman Award over Andrew Luck, but the Indianapolis Colts still selected Luck first in the NFL draft, a pick ahead of Griffin.
In addition to being a football star in high school, he dominated in track, setting a Texas state record in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles.
His parents, Robert Jr. and Jacqueline, were both U.S. Army sergeants stationed in Okinawa, Japan, when he was born. He married Rebecca Liddicoat in 2013.
