Famous as one half (with Angela Winbush) of the popular René & Angela soul and funk singing, songwriting, and producing duo, he recorded hits such as "Save Your Love (For #1)," "You Don't Have to Cry," and "Your Smile." He and Winbush are also well known for their songwriting and production work for Janet Jackson.
Acclaimed rappers Jay-Z and The Notorious B.I.G. sampled music by René & Angela.
In the mid-1980s, Moore and Winbush penned R&B singer Stephanie Mills' first chart-topping single, "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love."
Recording on the Capitol Records label, he and Winbush released their first album in 1980 and followed it up with Wall to Wall (1982); Rise (1983); and A Street Called Desire (1985).
He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
