She participated in the 1960 Olympic Games as a reserve member of Greece's champion sailing team.
She is the grandmother of Princess Leonor of Spain.
She spent her childhood in Greece, Egypt, South Africa, and Germany, and later attended Cambridge University's Fitzwilliam College in England.
