Panya Kritcharoen is well known as the bishop of the Roman Catholic diocese of Ratchaburi, Thailand, the last bishop appointed by Pope John Paul II on March 18, 2005. He became the sixth bishop of the diocese of Ratchaburi.
Panya Kritcharoen was born in a family of 10 children, to his parents, teachers. He was recieved good education from as a child thanks for that. He studied at the seminary in Ratchaburi for 8 years and then studied in the United States. He was ordained as priest on May 22, 1976 in Ratchaburi before serving as assistant priest, parish priest, as well as school headmaster.
He has a close relationship with 9 his brothers and 1 sister in his family, some of whom are Mr Surapong Kritcharoen, Mr. Poll Kritcharoen and Ms. Kanchana, etc.
