As a striker, Giroud plays for Arsenal and the France national team. Known for his size, physical style of play, heading ability, shot power, strength and link-up play, he is also associated with making runs to the front post that outwit defenders. Giroud was the top scorer of Ligue 1 with 21 goals in the 2011-12 season, giving Montpellier their first ever Ligue 1 title before moving to Arsenal on 26 June 2012. He made his full international debut for France in 2011, earning 40 caps and was a part of the teams which reached the quarter-finals at UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
He spent six years training at his hometown club Froges before joining professional club Grenoble at the age of 13.
