Nguyen Tien Minh, who beated the world champion Lee Chong Wei in 2009, is the No. 1 male badminton player from Vietnam. He who ranked number 5 internationally in the field in 2010, has been playing as a professional and was officially listed in BWF Badminton League since 2002. His best achievement so far is a bronze medal at the World Badminton Championship in 2013.
Born in a middle-classed family, Nguyen Tien Minh was introduced to badminton by his father at the early age of 10 and was immediately captivated by the sport with a local badminton championship in the same year.
He has devoted the entire youth to sport career and settling down has always been put aside, though the 32 year old player does take it in careful consideration.
