The first African-American First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama is an American lawyer and writer. As a wife whose husband want to be president, Michelle gave best support for Obama's campaign in 2007 and 2008. Becoming the first lady, Michelle Obama showed her responsibility for social problems by advocating for poverty awareness, nutrition, physical activity, and healthful eating, human rights, etc. For such contribution, Michelle Obama was named for 25 of the World's Most Inspiring Women ( 2006 ), honorary guest at Oprah Winfrey's Legends Ball and the 58th of The Harvard 100. Michelle Obama was born Michelle LaVaughn Robinson. From young age, Michelle soon showed her interest in politics as being a member of the National Honor Society, student council treasurer, involved in the Third World Center supporting minority, advocated the hiring of professors who were members of minorities,etc. After graduating from Havard, she worked at the law firm Sidley Austin, then the staff of Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley, the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Michelle met the president Obama while working in Sidley Austin. They married in 1992 and have two daughters: Malia and Natasha.
