MC Mong is a South Korean hip hop artist who is known for his comic disposition and his upbeat songs. In 2006, he proved his talents as a solo rapper with his album The Way I Am, which topped the charts on November 19, 2006, beating out "big names" in the industry like Rain and Se7en. In 2015, he won the 4th Gaon Chart K-Pop Awards for Song of the Year.
MC Mong graduated from Dong-Ah Broadcasting College. He made the first debut as a member of hip hop group People Crew in 1998. Because he was overshadowed by other members in his group, he was not noticed until 2003, when he acted in MBC's Non-Stop 4.
In 2008, MC Mong announced his breakup with a 3-year non-celeb girlfriend. Not long after that, he revealed his new girlfriend to public: actress Joo Ah Min and admitted to have been through harsh time because of it.
