Maya Angelou was a famous author, poet, singer, and actress in the United States, who was widely popular for her series of autobiographies about her childhood and experiences. Using fiction-writing techniques, including development of theme, plot, language, dialogue, she made her works became unique and drew much attention from readers. She released autobiographies, books of essays or poetry and received many honorable awards and degree for her great talent and contribution.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of Bailey Johnson and Vivian (Baxter) Johnson. She was mute in five years because of trauma and during this silent period, she developed her memory and her interest in books and literature as well as her listening and observing ability.
She got married to Tosh Angelos but the couple divorced in 1954. Then she had her second marriage with Paul du Fec 1973 and ended in 1981.
