Martin Luther King is recognized by most people as an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian and especially the leader of African-American Civil Rights Movement. With continuous effort, King helped to establish Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, Nonviolent protests in Birmingham, Alabama in 1963, The 1963 March on Washington. For all his contributions, King was honored and given Nobel Peace Prize. In 1968, when planning for the Poor People's Campaign, he was assassinated. To show deep gratitude towards King, who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Gold Medal, Martin Luther King Day was established from 1971, his name was used in many streets and a country in Washington State.
King was born in Geogia and lived with his father and 2 brothers. At school, Martin soon show his outstanding ability in public speaking and became the youngest assistant manager of a newspaper at the age of 13. In 1947, King's decision to entry minister developed his inner urge and belief in a "Rational" minister with sermons that were " A respectful force for ideas, even social protest". From that, King spent all of his life to pursue that mission.
As a statement, King have a clear and quiet personal life. When in highschool, he dated the daughter of an immigrant German. They broke up because of discrimination which left him uncovered pain. In 1963, King married Coretta Scott with four children.
