Always being in the list of "100 Greatest Women in Music", as well as Sexiest Artists of All Time List, Moore, a singer and an actor, first became famous with her 1999 debut single, "Candy", number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her first album, So Real, in 1999 received a Platinum certification from the RIAA and "I Wanna Be with You" with Top 40 hit in the US, number 24 on the Hot 100 chart. She also played in some movies such as Lana Thomas in The Princess Diaries, film A Walk to Remember. In 2010, Moore voiced with Zachary Levi in the animated film Tangled, "I See the Light" which won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media
Moore became interested in acting and singing at a young age and was inspired to be an actress by her grandmother and the musical Oklahoma. Moore starred first in some local productions, as well as performed the National Anthem at numerous Orlando based events.
Her mother Stacy was a former news reporter and her father, Donald Don Moore, was a pilot for American Airlines. She married alternative country musician Ryan Adams in 2009 in Savannah, Georgia.
