Lee Shin Cheng is a Malaysian Chinese businessman in plantation industry. He is known as the executive chairman of IOI Group, one of the biggest palm oil and real estate development conglomerates in Malaysia, including two subsidiaries IOI Properties Berhad and IOI Oleochemical Industries Berhad (Industrial Products). With the net worth of $3.8 billion as of 2015, he has recently been ranked number six in the Malaysia's 50 Richest by Forbes.
In order to support his family, he dropped out of school and worked as an ice cream seller for four years before continuing his studies. After meeting a lot difficulties in finding jobs, he was still undeterred and gathered enough financial might to buy up Dunlop Estate when he was about 32 years old.
