Lana Del Rey is an American retro-'60s-sounding pop singer and songwriter who has become famous since her hit songs Video Games and Blue Jeans in 2011. With a torchy image and unique voice, Lana has made her own stand in the US music industry and gained recognition with her hit Born to Die (2012) ranking No.1 in several European countries, No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and sold several million copies worldwide.
Del Rey is the daughter of Robert England Grant Jr., a former Grey Group copywriter who turned to an entrepreneur and Patricia Ann Pat, a former Grey account executive who turned to a high school teacher. Del Rey started writing songs at 18 and released the Kill Kill single and the debut album under her given name, Lizzy Grant in 2010. She used to work in community service area and perform at local pubs.
