She claimed to fame by the single “I Kissed A Girl” (2008) which was partially inspired by actress Scarlet Johannson. Besides being a sensational singer, she also writes songs. Since earning a Grammy nomination for best female pop vocal for “I Kissed a Girl”, Katy has won a lot of awards and nominations for her music products and often topped on Billboard charts for her singles and albums. She has been the only artist since Miachael Jackson to have five number-one hits from the same album as Billboard reported.
Katy Perry is the middle child of pastor parents, Mary Christie (Perry) and Maurice Keith Hudson. Growing up in a deeply religious family, she listened to only gospel music and first performed singing in church.
