Katherine Marie Heigl is an Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe nominated American actress, best known for her starring roles in several Hollywood hits and TV dramas. Heigl made her acting debut in 1992 with the movie “That Night”. Not only famous for a striking appearance and appealing play-acting, but she also is known as one of Hollywood’s few voices of truth about the issue of feminists, gays and underdog, which influences American generations a lot. Katherin Marie Heigl, nicknamed ‘Katie’ was born to Nancy Heigl who is a personnel manager and Paul Heigl who is an accountant and executive. When she was 17, her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwenr a mastectomy following with her parents' divorcement. Katie first was a child model for top magazines such as Sears, Lord & Taylor, etc. After a number of commercials, modeling assignments and movie auditions, she realized acting rather than modeling was her passion. Heigl graduated from school and move with her mother to Hollywood co concentrate on the acting career with her mother becoming her manager.
