Jaya, born María Luisa Ramsey and dubbed Asia's Queen of Songs, is a singer, dancer and actress from Philipines. Joining show business at early age, she received Best Interpreter award for her performance of the song You Lift Me Up at the Asia Song Festival held in Hong Kong in February 1997. With the song Hiding Inside Myself, she gained a Awit Award for Best Female Vocal Performance three years later. In 2013, she served as a judge of GMA Network's new musical variety show Sunday All Stars and also made her performance as Sally in Filipino dramatic television series Mga Basang Sisiw.
Entering show business as a ten-year-old backup dancer of her mother, Elizabeth Ramsey, she gained achievement when performing in Student Canteen, at which her mother won the champion of this GMA-7 noontime variety show. After that, she participated in Opera House and began her solo career, under the name Louise Ramsey, since 1982.
Her first marriage was to musician Andrew Buffington in 1998 but they ended in divorce after three years living together. She then got married to Gary Gotidoc with a daughter Sabriya and a son Dylan.
