Being a youngest child of the Jackson family of musicians, American singer, songwriter, and actress Janet Jackson is known as one of the best-selling artists in contemporary history with the most notable albums Control, which made her become a pop icon in 1986. Gaining attention by hit singles like Nasty, Rhythm Nation and That's the Way Love Goes, she was ranked number five of the Top 50 R&B/Hip-Hop Artists of the Past 25 Years by Billboard magazine in 2010. In 2015, she co-founded her own record label, Rhythm Nation Records, along with BMG Rights Management.
Born in a show business family, Janet Jackson made her first appearance in the summer replacement television show The Jacksons in 1976. After that, she got a role as Penny on the TV comedy series Good Times (1977-1980).
Janet Jackson experienced three marriages up to now. The first one was to
James DeBargein 1984 and they ended in divorce a year later. After living with her second husband, René Elizondo, Jr., for nine years from 1991 to 2000, she got married to Wissam Al Mana in 2012.
