Before releasing his self-titled studio album in 2014, this Irish blues and Indie rock vocalist recorded two EPs: Take Me to Church and From Eden. From 2009 until 2012, he also performed and toured internationally with the well-known Irish choral group Anúna.
His 2013 single "Take Me to Church" rose to #2 on Irish music charts and was a #1 hit in Belgium.
He and fellow Irish singer Niamh Perry were both born in 1990.
He joined his first music group during his mid teens and went on to briefly attend the music program at Trinity College Dublin.
A native of Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, he grew up as the child of a locally-prominent blues and soul musician. His birth name was Andrew Hozier-Byrne; he later adopted the stage name of Hozier.
