Howie Mandel is a Canadian actor, comedian and television personality. In the early 1980s, he came to fame for his roles as Dr. Wayne Fiscus in the NBC medical drama St. Elsewhere (1982) and as the creator and executive producer of the children's cartoon Bobby's World (1990-1998). In addition, he caught attention when hosting the NBC game show Deal or No Deal (since 2005), which earned him the first Emmy Award nomination in 2008, and served as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent in the fifth season of the reality talent contest.
After being expelled from three high schools because of his antics, he began working as a door-to-door carpet salesman. His business successfully grew up with two retail stores. Performing his comic talents at the Comedy Store, he impressed a television producer for the comedic game show Make Me Laugh and then he was given opportunities to appear during the show's run in 1979.
