Hidetoshi Nakata is a retired Japanese football player, considered as one of the most famous Asian footballers of his generation. His professional career began in 1995 and in the next two year, he earned the Asian Football Confederation Player of the Year award. He played for Japan in three FIFA World Cup tournaments (1998, 2002 and 2006) and played in the Olympics twice (1996 and 2000). In March 2004, he became one of the only two Asian footballers named in Pelé's FIFA 100, a list of the top living footballers at the time.
From 1986 to 1989, he played for Hokushin Boys Soccer Club. After that, he joined in Kofu Kita Jr. High school for four years before took in Nirasaki High school for four-year period from 1992 to 1995.
