Guy Sebastian, an Australian singer-songwriter, rose to popularity when becoming Australian Idol in 2003 and a judge on Australia's The X Factor. He was also known as the first Australian artist to participate in 2015 Eurovision Song Contest. Being one of the most successful artists in his hometown with six number-one singles and two number-one albums, he has gained 24 ARIA Award nominations and won the APRA Urban Work of the Year, the [V] Oz Artist of the Year, Urban Music Awards for Best Male Artist and Best R&B Album, and an International Songwriting Competition award for Battle Scars.
He learned to play several music instruments like violin, guitar, drums and piano during his childhood. As a worship singer, he performed both lead and backup vocals for Paradise Community Church. He then entered King's Baptist Grammar School before attending the University of South Australia, majoring in Medical Radiation but dropping out to pursue singing career. After that, he worked as vocal teacher at Temple Christian College and other high schools while attending the University of Adelaide's Elder School of Music to study Music Technology.
