An American artistic gymnast Gabby Douglas is well known as Olympic gymnast who won gold medals in both the individual all-around and team competitions. More notably, she rose to fame for being the first African American to win the individual all-around event. The young but talent girl also became a member of the gold-winning U.S. team at the 2011 World Championships.
Born in a family of 4 children to parents Timothy Douglas and Natalie Hawkins Gabby Douglas training in gymnastics at age three when her older sister, Arielle, convinced their mother to enroll her in gymnastics classes. Douglas became the winner at the Level 4 all-around gymnastics title at the 2004 Virginia State Championships at her age of 8.
