Deployed as a midfielder, Delph currently plays for Manchester City and the England national football team. He used to represent Bradford, Leeds respectively before moving to Aston Villa and helped the team successfully start to the 2012-13 season. On 17 July 2015, Delph joined Manchester City for a 8-million transfer fee. After playing for both under-19 and under-21's, on 28 August 2014, the midfielder was named in the senior England squad for the first time. Delph made his first start and played entirely of a 2-0 win away to Switzerland.
He started his career in football as a youngster at Bradford City. Delph left Bradford in September 2001 for Leeds United after receiving some suggestions. He went to Tong Secondary School, which he left in 2006 to sign a two-year scholarship with Leeds aged 16.
