Elvis Presley was an American singer who is commonly known as "The King of Rock and Roll" and one of the most iconic musical legends of the twentieth century. He achieved worldwide recognition with 3 Grammy Awards, along with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Presley was named as the second top earning dead celebrity. Some of his most popular songs are: Love Me Tender (1956), Hard Headed Woman (1958), Can't Help Falling In Love (1962), Suspicious Minds (1969), etc. Presley became famous after appearing on CBS's Stage Show in 1956 and released his self-titled debut album later that year. Presley was also an actor. He made his acting debut in the film Love Me Tender in 1956.
Presley was an only child and did not come from a very eligible family. Though Presley was originally never professionally trained in music, he listened to a variety of music. After graduating from school, he had different jobs while still working on his dream as an artist. His talent was discovered by Sam Phillips, who owned a record label.
Presley was known to have been with many women throughout his life. Yet eventually, in 1967, he was married to Priscilla Ann Wagner, whom he met while he was on his military mission in Germany. They had a daughter,
Lisa Marie , who was born in Memphis, Tennessee. The marriage fell apart in 1973.
