Ed Sheeran is an English singer-songwriter and musician. His indie style and melodic voice won the heart of millions with his hit songs The A Team and Lego House, which were certified Platinum in the UK. In 2012, he won two Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. Most recently, he was nominated for Best New Artist at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
Sheeran’s father, John Sheeran, is an art curator and lecturer while his mother, Imogen Lock, is a culture publicist-turned-jewellery designer. He has an older brother named Matthew, who is a classical composer and postgraduate music student. At the age of 16, he moved to London to pursue a career in music. In 2011, he made a great breakthrough with his album No. 5 Collaborations Project.
He is the cousin of TV presenter Gordon Burns and fellow musician Jethro Sheeran. He previously had an intimate relationship with singer Ellie Goulding.
