Known as the co-founder of Jimmy Choo Ltd, Malaysian fashion designer Dato’ Jimmy Choo, OBE became famous for his company's handmade women's shoes. Recently, he won The World’s Outstanding Malaysian Designer 2011" Design for Asia Award for the Daniel part and You Bring Charm to the World – World’s Most Influential Malaysian Award (2012). In 2013, he was known as a member of the Red Dot product design jury.
Following his father's footsteps about the craft of shoemaking, he had made his first shoes by the age of 11. In the early 1980s, he attended the Cordwainers Technical College in Hackney, England and graduated in 1983.
His son, Danny, is running Mirai Inc. in Tokyo, Japan and he also has a daughter who studied interior design in San Francisco.
