Chris Pine, born Christopher Whitelaw Pine, is an American actor who came to fame for his appearances as James T. Kirk in the reboot Star Trek (2009), which earned him diversified achievements, including a Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Ensemble Cast, a Scream Award for Best Actor in a Science Fiction Movie or TV Show, a Denver Film Critics Society Award for Best Acting Ensemble and various nominations, and its sequel Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), for which he shared People's Choice Award for Favorite Movie Duo with Zachary Quinto. He also won the Male Star of the Year at CinemaCon Award in 2013.
After attending the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom for one year and graduating from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in English in 2002, he entered the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco to follow in his family's acting footsteps. In 2003, he had his first role in an episode of ER and then made his appearances in episodes of The Guardian and CSI: Miami.
