Park Chan-wook is one of the most popular and talented film producer, screenwriter, film critic and film director. He is best known for his hugely successful film such as The Vengeance Trilogy (2002), Oldboy (2003) and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance (2005). During his life long career, Park Chan-wook has earned an uncountable list of awards and nominations. Most noticeably, he won a Asia Pacific Film Festival and a Grand Bell Award for Best Director ( 2004).
Park Chan-wook attended Sogang University, majoring in philosophy but was attracted by the idea of making film. He formed a Sogang Film Community in his school years together with his schoolmates. After graduating, he quickly pursued his dream by writing critics fro films and soon became an assistant director of many other famous directors. In 1992, he first made his own film named The Moon Is... the Sun's Dream
