Most widely-known as a Scottish actor and singer , Billy Boyd played his role as Peregrin "Pippin" Took in Peter Jackson's epic film trilogy The Lord of the Rings (2001-2003), Barret Bonden in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), and Glen in Seed of Chucky (2004).In 2013, Boyd played Banquo in Shakespeare's Macbeth, at the Shakespeare's Globe.

Born to William and Mary Boyd in Glasgow, Scotland,along with the elder sister
Margaret , Billy Boyd was brought up by his grandmother after his parents' death when he was in early teens. He also appeared in local musical company Theater Guild, Glasgow's production of Hans Andersen in 1984 when he was 16 years old. Before pursuing an acting career, Billy Boyd worked as a book-binder for seven years. He graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where he earned a diploma in Dramatic Arts. Afterthat, he performed in many plays like " The Slab Boys", "The Diary of Adrian Mole"...at The St.Andrews theater. -
