A Canadian-French singer and songwriter Avril Lavigne is best known for mixing Rock, Punk and a rebellious style, who quickly won over listeners thanks to hit singles Complicated and Sk8er Boi, which belong to her first album sold 15 million copies and her second album, Under My Skin debuted at number one in many countries. She left her mark on the musical world with her debut album Let Go which earned her reputation of a "skater punk" persona and "pop punk princess” and made Lavigne the youngest female soloist to reach number 1 in the UK. For her talent, she took home top honors at the Juno Awards, was named Best New Artist at the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards and received a World Music Award for "World's Bestselling Canadian Singer".
Born to her mother of English, Scottish, and German descent and her French father Jean-Claude Joseph Lavigne Avril Lavigne first performed at country fairs, sang songs by Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, and Shania Twain when she was 14. She started writing her own songs such as Can't Stop Thinking About You. She became the winner of a radio contest to perform with fellow Canadian singer Shania Twain at theCorel Centre in Ottawa in 1999.
Having finished her first marriage with Sum 41 lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Deryck Whibley after 4 years together Avril Lavigne got married to fellow Canadian rocker Chad Kroeger in 2013.
