Being a Malaysian Chinese pop singer, Angelica Lee mostly rose to fame as a film actress in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Her starring role as Wong Kar-mun The Eye, a hit Asian horror film in 2002, which earned her the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress, Best Actress at the Hong Kong Film Festival and a Hong Kong Golden Bauhinia Award. Another typical film, Betelnut Beauty, also brought her to Berlin Film Festival in 2001 and became one of the very few Asian artists to receive Best Newcomer Award for her portrayal of Fei Fei.
As a child, she participated in a number of singing competitions and received various awards. After that, she became the head of her school drama club when attending Keat Hwa Secondary School. In 1995, she auditioned for a Sylvia Chang's film in Kuala Lumpur.
She got married to Oxide Pang Chun on 6 February 2010.
