South Korean cardinal priest Andrew Yeom Soo-Jung served as Archbishop of Seoul, from 2012until retirement in 2014. He succeeded Nicholas Cheong Jin-Suk and was elevated to the cardinalate in 200. He also worked as the Chairman of Peace Broadcasting Corporation, a Catholic television channel and radio.
Andrew Yeom Soo-Jung was born into a Catholic family, to Peter Yeom Seok-tae and Kim Maria. His family has a tradition of holding religious belief from one generation to another. He has 2 younger brothers who also follow his family’s tradition, leading two dioceses in Seoul. Yeom soon showed a determination to become a priest and decided to attend a catholic university in Seoul.
